Creativity.
Forest Festival begins in January when all ages of school children in Mason County are invited to compete in “The Button Contest.” Cash prizes are awarded to the top three finalists in each age category, with the overall winning design used to create the annual button.
Confidence.
The Forest Festival court is selected in March. This year’s ceremony was held at Gateway Christian Center on March 19, 2022. Each royalty member selected received a scholarship from local organizations and the Mason County Forest Festival Association.
Engagement.
A logging show, parade, carnival, run, and car show and a fireworks celebration – the annual events may look different this year but volunteers are working hard to bring as much joy to local families as possible!
The Mason County Forest Festival requires an annual budget of approximately $55,000. Some costs are covered with button sales and parade, carnival, and vendor revenues. But most of the budget comes from donations. The Mason County Forest Festival needs help from you. We understand that you are approached by many deserving non-profit organizations seeking donations throughout the year.
It is difficult to select which one to help. That’s why we’ve put together a program with varied levels so you can choose to donate an amount that will work best for you.

Support the SHS NJROTC Booster Club & Cadets! The weather for their car show on June 2nd resulted in a huge loss in participation and attendance and we’d like to give them a little extra support. All proceeds from these donations will go to the Shelton NJROTC Booster Club. Donation price is equivelant to the cost of entering a car into the show. Purchase as many “entires” as you like! :)
