2025 Mason County Forest Festival

Junior Royalty

In honor of the 80th Forest Festival, we are bringing back our Junior Royalty Court! The Forest Festival Board will select one winner from each school in the county to represent Mason County during Forest Festival, May 31 and June 1, 2024.

We are asking you to write a one page, double-spaced essay on “How Forest Festival benefits the local Mason County community, and why you want to be part of Forest Festival.”

PLEASE SUBMIT ESSAYS BY EMAIL NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, MARCH 7th.

Eligibility: 

• 6th, 7th, or 8th grader attending school and residing in Mason County

• Essay must include a header on the right hand side including:

  • student name (first and last)

  • school, grade

  • teacher

  • parent name (first and last)

  • parent phone & email

Junior Court Requirements: 

• All applicants to attend Mason County Forest Festival Coronation on Saturday, March 15th at 6pm at the Shelton High School Performing Arts Center where the essay contest winners from each school will be announced.

• Saturday, May 31st - Family & Pet Parade 

• Saturday, May 31st - Paul Bunyan Grand Parade, downtown Shelton @ 11am; arrive at 10am at 7th & Railroad

• Saturday, May 31st - introduction at Logging Show ~ noon
